How to Use This Tool:
Answer each question honestly based on the working relationship with the external worker. The wizard will guide you through a series of questions to determine the most appropriate classification.
Classification Types:
- W2 Contractor: Workers who are under the direction and control of SABIC, using SABIC tools/equipment, and integrated into the team.
- 1099 Independent Contractor: Workers who maintain independence in how they complete the work, use their own tools/equipment, and operate as a separate business entity.
- Statement of Work (SOW): Appropriate when engaging a firm/vendor to deliver a specific project or outcome, not individual workers.
Important Notes:
This tool provides guidance based on SABIC's classification policy. Final determinations should be made in consultation with TRS MSP, Legal, and Procurement to ensure compliance with all laws and regulations.
